IE9 has IE7 and IE8 build in. Can be switched on in the developer tools (F12) :)

I’ve always used IECollection by Utilu – it just feels much more native than IETester, so I find myself trusting the results much more. Perhaps I should consider getting a Windows 7 virtual machine, though, as XP doesn’t run IE9 :|

It doesn’t give precise results though.

I’ve also found that Adobe browser lab isn’t very precise. Not to mention it only takes a screenshot so you can’t “play” with the site like IEtester. I only use it to check OSX when needed (don’t have a mac….yet).

IETester and/or Browserlabs are not necessary, as you can use IE’s developer tools by pressing F12 . This will allow you to preview the DOM and browser mode of IE7 , IE8 and IE9 ().

() if you’re using it form IE9 of course.
