Good Referral Program Proposal

Please read till the end and pass your comments!
Everyone have an idea about the Envato’s Referral program , which in principle as: Refer new users to Any Of The Envato Marketplaces and you’ll Receive 30% of Their first purchase or cash deposit!
Frankly and in my experience, this program is not too inspiring. personally I do LOTS of efforts to promote my refferal links, I spend much time on the computer for this task, but unfortunately no real reward.
Case Study:

you may notice from the picture, that I exceeded for 1 ½ years 116.577 clickthroughs, but I won only $ 30 during this period.
PROPOSAL
I propose to change the system operating the referral program as follows:

• Referral Program to attract buyer(you will receive 30% or 40% of that person’s first cash deposit or purchase price)
• Referral Program to attract Seller (Contributor)(You will receive for example 5% or 10% of his earnings for life or for a considerable period (one year for example)

Sorry but it seems your just put a lot of effort into the wrong place!

I have stuff on DA and adobe exchange and 1 item on creattica i only started in feb and it takes a few month but is really beginning to pay of, so far this month i have earn more through referrals than i have from sales!

yes I also think so … my referral is not to good but I am starting now… You chose the wrong place…. you get referred members but low deposits….. here is mine .. not big but well ….

Yes, but it is still linked to luck and opportunity.
I think my proposal is more reliable because it can provide more stable income.

I only put link in area where the people visiting would be interested in graphicsriver, so the clickthrough have higher value and give better results, than just post link any where you get the opportunity.

It is trying to target people who are looking for stock graphics so if they do click through they are more likely to purchase as the content your providing them with is the sort of content they are looking for.

A bad example would be just targeting site for photoshop users as a lot of them are just look for tutorials, they may clickthrough but are unlikely to purchase anything, as they were originaly looking for tutorials not to buy stock.

You really need to thing about things like this as it means you spend less time, by only putting thing in the right areas instead of everywhere just hoping some one with register and deposit!

I think the system is fine as it is but the change I would like to see is tools for seeing where your referrals are coming from so it easier to know where to target and get results

From my point of view biggest problem with referral program is that it is only ONE deal and no more – you refer one person and you get 30% of it first deposit that isn’t motivating. Referral program shroud give you opportunity to earn each time when person deposit some cash.

This referral program type check out in many book stores and it could also here.

Omg Kh2838, what did you do to get all those clicks? Specially from April ‘10 (that you have 4,500 click troughs) to August ‘10 (12,000 click troughs)!!!

I have no idea how you people do that… I have 2 items in adobe exchange (+1 awaiting approval) and some on D.A., 2 items featured in Creattica and only 1 deposit.

As i am from Argentina, and the behaviour of buyers here is different from the rest of the world (as they are in every single country) I have no idea where to put my items to get more exposure and referrals, i am specially interested in USA , and Europe market, but as i said, i have no idea where buyers search for stock design, i mean, where they go that make us a referral?
