Wasn’t really looking for advice, just trying to figure out if it’s just me.

.. but I was told the other day that I sound like a nerd :P Which I’m 100% okay with. I’m proud to call myself a geek.

There’s quite a difference in the nuance.. ;)

I can say as someone who has done a lot of podcasts that almost everyone, initially, is uncomfortable with the sound of their own voice being played back. It’s natural, just be confident and go with it :)

Gotta agree with that. Same thing for singing. Also, having done YouTube vlogs for almost 3 years, and been on telli’ before that, I can say it’s the same with how you look and act.

I think I’m turning into @JeffreyWay – he has a bit of a geeky voice (no offence to Jeffrey) and today (I’m very slow to realize these things) I noticed my voice sounds similar to his. I’m not very happy with this because that means I’m joining the group of “Stereotypical geek”.

Anybody else experienced the “Jeffrey Effect”?

Edit: Yes I know this is off-topic but there is no “general off-topic” it’s all site specific =/

“no offence to Jeffrey”???? “I noticed my voice sounds similar to his. I’m not very happy with this because that means I’m joining the group of “Stereotypical geek”. You are incredible, dude!
For me this sounds like an insult!
Perhaps you won’t be able to achieve this goal because of the voice (last time was because of some financial crap issues, if I remember)?
As far as I am concerned, I find Jeffrey’s voice quite sexy :) He’s one of the best teachers I’ve find on the internet. First come with some high quality tutorials and then worry about the voice!

As long as you can say “I’m gonna go ahead and save this guy out” in an American accent, you are qualified to do video tutorials. :D

There were done about 6 years agofor that company: Videos

Everyone can stand certain levels of a voice pattern and I won’t speak for myself or anyone else about another teachers voice. But in my head I believe my voice is different from this “Effect” you say people have? Maybe not because we all hear ourselves differently. :)
