I think I’m turning into @JeffreyWay – he has a bit of a geeky voice (no offence to Jeffrey) and today (I’m very slow to realize these things) I noticed my voice sounds similar to his. I’m not very happy with this because that means I’m joining the group of “Stereotypical geek”.

Anybody else experienced the “Jeffrey Effect”?

Edit: Yes I know this is off-topic but there is no “general off-topic” it’s all site specific =/

I know that my voice is much different than Jeffrey’s, but I was told the other day that I sound like a nerd :P Which I’m 100% okay with.

I’m proud to call myself a geek.

(my voice is very low, just fyi).

I can say as someone who has done a lot of podcasts that almost everyone, initially, is uncomfortable with the sound of their own voice being played back. It’s natural, just be confident and go with it :)

That’s for sure. You will also always sound different to yourself the first few times to play your recording back.

It’s easy to be confident when you have Drew’s ‘Barry White’ voice ;)

Jeffrey has been quite successful, so give it a go! Don’t worry about how you sound, people don’t really care anyway ;)

I’d much rather hear Jeffrey’s voice than Chris Coyier’s, the latter’s so boring I always end up closing the screencast. :D

Now seriously I enjoy his screencasts, he’s very enthusiastic and a pretty good teacher. As far as I am concerned the voice doesn’t matter.
