Hi Guys…
I’m Felt Tips from over on Videohive. I thought I’d swing by here and ask the good folks of Active Den a question.
I’ve just been asked by a client to deliver a Flash video, but it must be in swf format. This is a new one on me. I often export flvs etc. but I have no idea how to convert that into a swf. I have Flash CS5 . I’m sure it’s easily doable, but I’m afraid I don’t dip into the world of Flash all that often.
Thanks if you can help. (and if I can ever return the favour for some video question or other, then feel free to swing by the Videohive forum any time).

^I want to see the person who will try to implement some of your video portfolio into actual swf
most of your stuff is above 100 mag .
No one do that anymore, i can’t see the logic if you implement video into actual swf as it will be so heavy and i don’t know how much it will be durable in actual flash project . Today things moving fast any assets above 1 mag loading swf is not something that we as a flashers want to handle in a project so all external media mp3/video in most case are been handle on live streamer ,you should explain it to your clients first before you going to start doing something that really won’t be much durable in a flash project .

If you just want to convert flv video to swf, I am sure there are lots of programs out there that can do it.

Thanks Tsafi. I know it’s a bit antiquated, but it’s a huge media placement agency and that’s their file specs! I think it’s probably to do with the fact that some of the hardware they play back on is probably ahem.. less than state of the art.
They also offer MPEG1 and WMV , but I thought that Flash would probably give the best results.

^ Some forget that Flash Player is not directly a media player
Converting 100-400 mb in flash will take more than an hour++ on 6 gb ram if it won’t crash on the way ,so i think Tean solution is much more practical .
i’d recommend to use this converter http://www.macvide.com/Macvide_FlashVideo_Converter/, it converts flash to other formats, try)

Use any H.264 encoded video better if FLV , drag it inside your Flash IDE . Wait until you see it on the stage and compile your swf (ctrl+enter) and there you have your swf. It will take quite some time, though.
