Flash items on site templates - Allowed ?

Can I use Flash items such as buttons , menus , sliders , or any other component created in Flash in site templates.. I include them in the package with user manual so the users can modify them … can I ? Is it ok with guide lines ? Please help

Possibly if you were selling this under active Den.

Here on TF although it probably is allowed, I would imagine the reviewers would be very strict about such things unless the flash is very useful.

Piece-maker is really the only flash used on templates here, yet as of late its popularity has taken a big hit.

I meant not the whole site.. I know that flash items are for active den.. but active den is for fully flash web sites with xml powered and in the other hand those items cant hit big sales…... what I need is to create the sliders, and some of the main components such as main menu… portfolio display only in flash the others will be managed in css and html….. what did you meant by “unless the flash is very useful.” ?

hmm, that sounds very ‘iffy.’

Flash Sliders are about the most you can use in a WP theme. And even that is frowned upon well since Apple dropped flash in their mobile devices… Putting it in your portfolio and even worse for the actual ‘menu’ – no that is VERY unlikely to get accepted.

I think you should drop the flash and use jQuery and some cool css3 stuff it’s pretty close to flash animated stuff and also it works on the IToys.

Thanks! but what I was planning is to include a 3d banner rotator a set of buttons with advanced hover effects. but it seems that it’s good to use jQery instead without being hit my head on the rock by being rejected my effort

You should definitely exclude Flash elements and use js or yet better CSS (you can achieve very advanced effects if you know CSS properly) because try to think about users: those who used to buy items on ActiveDen definitely have Flash software what is not obligatory for buyers on TF (who might not even think about obtaining additional software, yet so expensive). Imagine their rage if they discover it after purchasing the template. Not everyone knows that Flash elements can be edited in Flash software only, so it can occur to be an unpleasant surprise.
