Feedback on new design (Personal Project)

I’m working on a personal project, specifically on what will be my very own website about Prestashop Modules and some other things.

I don’t mean to be rude, but this template is “poo poo.” I highly suggest you check out some of the latest designs on a CSS Design Gallery.

Wha…? Really? Aw cm on, i didn’t think it was so bad. Do you mean my other template i posted here was better? (it’s the one pictured in portfolio section)

The one featured in the portfolio section of your current theme looks better than this one.

Wow, really? That’s encouraging, looks like the more i design, the worse result i get then :/

What is the biggest issue with this one? Colour scheme? I worked hard on typography, using a 6px grid to align text better, and paid attention to the fonts i used/size

Oh by the way, the blue on the top menu is for hover state, the grey rectangle for current page

Okay… i tried to improve the overall design:

I changed all the textures to some cooler (imo) ones. I re-thought the logo changed search bar re-positioned things in featured section (dark background) moved around stuff in posts to get a better alignement and order Changed all Arial text to Open Sans
