I’ve noticed the marketplaces going offline sporadically, but more frequently this year than last. As an author, this is distressing because I have no control over whether customers can or can’t purchase my work regardless of the infrastructure investments I personally make.
I’d love to see transparent oversight (in a public way) about the uptime Envato is delivering and what they’re doing to improve it.
Companies like 37signals (which has featured Envato in its “Bootstrapped, Profitabe, and Proud” series) make this info very public, and aren’t shy talking about it.

I think it’s very possible for Envato to turn a negative (downtime) into a positive (uptime) provided they’re actually performing well.
Anyone else want this on the mythical roadmap?

I have to disagree in your first statement of the marketplaces being offline more this year than ever before – I’m here all day and never seen much of an issue apart from scheduled stuff now and again I think it’s been down less this year compared to previous years – but again I am just kinda stabbing at the dark so…
But I for one don’t need them to let me know what their uptime has been – I am far more worried about my servers being up for live demos etc

I don’t think this is necessary, it doesn’t go offline that much…

I’m inclined to agree with Jonathan.

I agree
Maybe I just have bad luck, but I’ve been noticing downtime more lately.
A buyer emailed me directly yesterday, and when I told him all support needs to go through ThemeForest for purchase verification, he said it was down. When I checked it was up — but an hour later it was down. That’s (at least) two outages in one day.
Uptime reporting isn’t a deal breaker, but I’m effectively paying Envato four figures every month to keep the marketplaces up. I’d like to know they’re doing that so we can both earn more.

How is it you’re paying Envato four figures?
It’s just last couple of days that outages are occurring frequently

It’s way better then it used to be – there was time the downtimes were really annoying, now it’s really good like jonathan01 said. What’s funny I have app that check my sales every 3 minutes, and during latest downtime I’ve got one sale – I wonder how is that possible

Envato takes at minimum 30% from your sales, he’s made 50k+.. so yeah.
