I’m excited to say the Envato Analytics (EA) website has had its first update since Vahid’s post. Here is what’s changed:

  1. Bounce rate and exit rate are now shown
  2. Reports now show when they were fetched (from now onwards)
  3. There are links to individual reports on the items page
  4. And some small UI changes

We also spent time on making the site faster and even moved the entire server to the AWS infrastructure. Unfortunately the Google Analytics API is simply too slow. Hence we have tried to come up with smarter ways to make EA feel faster; like making the UI give better feedback while it’s fetching a report.

Since this update we are also better able to track our usage of the Google Analytics API . With this information in hand we hope to add more of your suggestions to EA. In the meantime please let us know if this update has broken things for you.

Thanks

Tested. Awesome. !

Curious, are you using only the envato api methods available here or some internal ones too?

We do use the Envato API methods for authentication and listing your items but the traffic data is directly extracted from Google Analytics.

I’d love to get a user account on their analytics profile :P my mind is swimming with ideas on different reports I could spit out (eg)

By the way, I just found out the devs have placed a direct link to Envato Analytics inside the author’s dashboard:

Hey Denon!

Great job. Looking forward to more updates.

A question, if you would put pageviews, referrals and searches in one page would that slow down the loading time? The loading times are still bad but it gets worse by having to check three different pages for each item.

Cheers!

Nice progress. The only analytics data of any real worth however, is conversion data. What generated a sale? Traffic, page views, search terms, bounce rates etc are all useless by themselves.

Please implement some kind of conversion tracking so we can actually put the analytics tool to some use.

UX improvements are in the pipeline :)

We looked at the conversions report, but there wasn’t a straight forward way to extract conversions based on different author or item. It will require some dev work. As I have previously mentioned, I do this work outside of the core dev team and have no power to change things on their side.

Apart from the mentioned conversion feature, it would be nice to filter by day (right now is only possible to see the global visits for each day), so we can track some promotion activities on real time. Thanks for the update, btw.
