@Mel

Maybe I missed some of their posts, but I don’t see them doing anything against rules. Replying to a custom job request is OK, even if they are all over the place and annoy some of us :) So I don’t think they can be banned for that.

If they fall in sevenspark’s “Case 2”, then it’s a different thing.

But support knows best.

P.S.: ThemeForest author != person who works for Envato :)

ThemeForest author != person that works for Envato
Yeah that was a bit too much of a methapor… I know that, but it’s probably the closest simple explanation I could think of at that moment.

It’s as simple as hitting the report button.

Keep at it and they will go away eventually.

actually they have had accounts banned already, they just create new ones.

and what their doing isn’t really wrong, but the fact they have multiple people doing is where I see the issue, if they dedicated one account to do it then let them, but the fact they use multiple accounts is where I think its over stepping the bonds of this site, what if 20 other “firms” sent 4 or 5 people to the boards to scrap jobs?

Hey guys,

Just to be clear, customers can post in the forums if they want customisation or a new template etc. If it’s not in the right topic it’s a moderation issue. FreelanceSwitch job board is great and we hope people use it! :) – but people can post here too (as the majority of active forum users are freelancers anyway, right?).

I’m curious, how would you guys like to see the item requests section of the forum changed? I think some clearer definition around what kind of requests can be made would help.

The complaints aren’t with people asking for help. I’ve done it. When I know the answer to a question I’m happy to help out. We are a bunch of nerds and coding discussions are fun. :)

I think the issue that most people have is when anybody posts a How do I… question, certain knuckleheads always reply with We can help you with that (for a price), email us at….

They are essentially using the themeforest forum to spam for freelance work.

If that’s cool with themeforest and envato then I might as well join in with drop $10 in my paypal account and I’ll give you the answer as my standard reply when I know the answer to a question. :)

Perhaps a big 90’s style blinking link to freelanceswitch might help direct people to the appropriate forum.
