When importing from iPhone it only seems to take photos in the “Camera Roll” and NOT photos imported from iPhoto.

Sucks. I also used my iPhone, but I recorded a very long video (>4GB). I simply left the phone staring at the TV for over 30 minutes.
Then I imported it; it started uploading to Dropbox and I deleted it.
3-4 seconds later: hello extra 5 GB on Dropbox

You can just remove them from the ‘Camera uploads’ folder on your computer. It’ll propagate to the website as with any file deletion
