Hi.
I want to make one thing but not sure if that’s allowed, i guess so, but just in case. I want to create a preview for my latest CC file (slider), basically inserting it inside a full template (just homepage) so users can see it “in action”.

Question: Can i use one of the free-file-of-the-month templates i downloaded to make this preview? My doubt is that i can’t protect the whole html i’m going to upload for preview, so i’m not sure if the author will be disappointed with this usage inside the marketplace.

Thanks in advance!

One of my CodeCanyon items are embedded inside a template that i’ve bought from here, and nobody said anything.. I don’t think the guys you want to protect the template are going for it.. Most likely they will try to get your slider, but not the theme in which it sits.

I don’t think you can do so because free file of the month is free for only one month but I might be wrong so you should ask the support as this is a unique case.

^ Really? You can only use the free file on the month, that month?
I don’t think that’s makes sense at all.

This isn’t true. You have a regular license for the free file of the month, just like any other files you get from here.

Each user is entitled to one free regular license.

lol, I didn’t mean that. What I wanted to say is that the html template is not an image with a watermark but I guess with a regular license you can use it for preview only purpose.

You have a pretty strange way of explaining!! :)

Well, i think i will go ahead, and i’ll disable all the links, js etc of the template, to reduce the risk to the maximum. Just guessing that one author with a free file of the month care anymore about the rip-risk for that file, lol.

Probably the best way is to contact that “free-file-of-the-month” author and ask him.

@DryThemes, +1.

@pezflash, ask author for permission use. And add a credit back to this author.
