We all know envato should pay out twice a month but they won’t ever do it.

It’s been months since I got paid.. missed my window this/last month I and didn’t request in time (guess I should suffer for it).. Did that automatic thing you spoke of, more time passes, more thinking occurs… My request gets processed on the 30th, which is in a few days now.. and I guess I’ll get my money on the 16th because of weekend whatever…

Why do they have to hold my money so long? Why do they take so much of a ?? I’m exclusive (maybe I shouldn’t be). I cant believe I have to make $75,000 worth of sales before they will give me a respectable percentage of my own creations… yeah, 50 to 70% costs $75,000

The option I am considering is using paypal through my website (paypal only takes 2.9% and they dont HOLD IT FOR WHAT SEEMS LIKE FOREVER ).

Luckily I have a decent job, or this would drive me nuts…

To put it simply, you just need to put in your request on time and get into a habit of doing it that way. It’s the way it is, so you just have to get used to it and continue living your life.

How and when the payments are made have been discussed a lot on these forums, and pretty much the main reason you have to remember is that Envato are paying the transaction fee. This includes a flat fee and a percentage, so doing this twice a month would increase their costs considerably. Hence this is probably the reason why they hold the money longer as the minimal interest they earn will help to pay for the costs.

It has been talked about so much on here, please do a forum search, and you’ll find the answers you’re looking for.

Not to be funny, but we all knew and agreed to the terms / commission / payment options when we signed up.

Remember TF / CC / Evanto bring a huge amount of traffic to your products, which is something I feel I would struggle to get selling on my own site.

Don’t get me wrong, I hate looking at how much TF has made from me, but I have to ask: ‘If I sold it via my own website, would I have made this many sales?’

I always answer no :(

I disagree. I don’t spend more then I normally would just because I have money sitting in my account. It is because they don’t want to pay the fees twice a month, plus the longer your money sits in their account the more money they make from it.

That seems more logical rather than spending your earnings. I also presume giving people the option to withdraw more than once a month / any time would create more work for the marketplaces.

They have to pay you, they just wanna wait as long as possible for interest like you said. And when you spend your earnings within the marketplace you don’t get to withdraw it at all, and the author of what you buy only gets a small cut and has to wait too, and may buy something out of curiosity with those earnings while waiting for his withdrawal.. and the cycle continues. Especially if they haven’t reached their minimum balance, there is a lot of $$ worth of “insufficient funds” sitting around leaving some of the less successful/experienced members discouraged and frustrated.

Justify it any way you want.. they’re being too greedy and it affects real people, not just usernames.

I don’t think they are being too greedy. I was going to sell my plugin on OpenCart’s marketplace, but I would only earn 20% and would get half as much exposure. One thing that will help you is don’t depend or count on money you earn here. It will be like bonus money once a month :)
