buy a iMac

Hello all, im thinking of buying a imac for making webdesigns and like that in photoshop.

but i dont know if 21.5-inch is big enough.

what do you guys think?

Yup, that’ll be fine. If you can afford it, you’ll appreciate the larger one as you get into it all more. To give you a little perspective, I use a 20” iMac from 2007 (2.4Ghz C2D , 4GB RAM ) and I run everything from Photoshop and Lightroom to Parallels (running XP or Win7) and whatever else I need.

While 20” of screen real estate will work for me, I wanted more so I added a 21.5” full HD second display (which I use as my primary screen now). That setup works perfectly for me.

And definitely follow wizylabs advice. Buying a Mac and then seeing a new one come out shortly after that has better specs is painful.

It would add thunderbolt and what else?

Yeah, what the hell are you guys talking about? The new ones just came out. Next update won’t happen for another year. What better time is there to buy than now?

I definitely recommend purchasing the imac 21.5 in . It’s just awesome, i have a 20” iMac from 2007 as jremick and it’s still running flawlessly, the size is beyond what you will need for web development.

I guess a second display does a better job than a bigger screen as the 27, since it helps you organizing your open apps. Don’t know, might change my mind if i ever buy a 27” iMac.
