I was reading an interesting post by a buyer a couple of days ago… he was basically confirming that he bought a theme because everybody was buying it. With many thausands of sales he thought it was the best of the best, following the simple rule that if everybody buy something is probably the best thing to buy… but he was disappointed by his purchase.

This message probably revealed one of most crucial factor of success of some themes on TF.

If you make 150 sales or more the first week, you will probably make more than 3000 sales in a few months or also more than that (and so you can reach the plutonium paw also with 1 theme)... this also explains why when an author try to imitate a super succesful theme, making it also clearly better than the original, in most of the cases it won’t have the same success like the original, unless he succeed to make outstanding sales the first week.

This revelation is also useful for buyers. The number of sales isn’t always a factor of extreme quality. Probably in the marketplace there is a theme with 10 sales that is way better than 1 with 5000. The only difference is that nobody knows that

When we publish a theme is like a bet at the casino, you can lose everything or win the jackpot, without a specific or clear reason/rule… it’s matter of luck, timing and who knows what else.
