Authors: I would pay for this.....

Hey Everyone,

I’m not sure if this is allowed yet but maybe it can be a future update or category soon?

Why not let authors include a tutorial on the work they provide for an extra fee? I’d be willing to pay for that.

This is what I mean. I really like a lot of the flyers provided. I can look at a flyer and pretty much know how to design one similar or at leats know how they made some elements of the flyer.

However, there are still designs that I get stumped on and would love to know how the author created a specific element in the design.

So here is my suggestion to envato, allow authorss to provide a tutorial for the work they’ve submitted and bump up the fee. Maybe have a check box that states “want the PSD /AI tutorial to this file for $5 more”? Something along those lines.

This allows authors to make a little more $$ too.

Also, for us who are premium tuts members, we don’t have to wait weeks for fresh content and it would allow us to get tutorials along with the files we purchase.

Do you think this is a good idea or am I just crazy?

I am 100% sure, not many of the authors want you to know how to make those elements, that’s the reason why it makes their flyer unique, and stand out from the crowd .

Nevermind, I just answered my own question, LOL !!!!!

Buy the item and disect the PSD …DUH!!!!

I actually think its a good idea, but obviously not everyone would agree on it, being like Eli said, that some people don’t want to share secrets Either way +1 to your idea though!

Thanks! I would be happy to pay the authors more $$ for providint a tutorial. I still this it should be an OPTION to allow the authors to select which peice of work they want to offer the tutorial on.

Well, if the tutorial is included in the extended license, would you still buy it?

@Sherman: in most cases if by something it’s not because I could not do it myself, but it is because I can buy it in 2 seconds for 3 bucks – so even if it would take me only half an hour to do it myself I’m already better off buying it.

I don’t included tutorial with my items but lately I’ve been including a video for each of my items. The video doesn’t explain exactly how I created my items, it does however explain how to get the most out of them. So if you actually look at it entirely it Includes quite a bit of detail on how some of the elements are built.

I actually bought a few items here because I simply wanted to know “how did he do that?”. Opening and studying the file usually exposes the author’s secrets
