I believe that just as have a ‘Top New Authors’ link we need a ‘Top New Items’ link. A page that shows the best selling items only submitted in the last or week or month.

From what I’ve seen, most of the files in ‘Popular Files’ are the same from week-to-week. Now sure, they are popular for a reason, no doubt they are really good, but there’s probably an element of being ‘caught in a loop’, i.e they get more exposure, so they get more sales, so they end up on that page and get more exposure etc. etc.

And why wouldn’t buyers want to see popular, fresh new items?

First off, I just want to point out that you’ve sold $1,000 worth of items in your first month here. On Graphicriver, selling that much tends to take far longer.

Yes I think I was being a bit premature (a common problem with men of a certain age) in getting worried.

I think it was because I was on such a high after the first few days and then things just started to go south, but reflecting back now things are still going well.

I know I’m not getting a rough deal, and I certainly didn’t want it to come across like that, but I do believe that more could be done to help give exposure to new authors with better cross market promotion.

I like Kronen’s ideas on this:

I wish I got my red paw in 1 week :)

I know, I am very pleased about that :)

Promoting outside of Envato is a great way to get exposure and more sales, plus you’ll be on 80% with the referral fee. Even if you use Google ads, that could help a lot.
