Hello,
I’ve created a psd template that you can preview here. I’ve submitted it twice. The first time it had a lot of issues and I wasn’t really surprised when it came back rejected. I spent some more time on it refining it to where it is now, then I re-submitted it, feeling pretty good about it but I was shut down again.
I’m feeling pretty defeated by the whole process right now
. I’m the director of the design department at the company that I work for so I’m always taking the feedback from our clients and refining the design until they are extremely happy. In this case, however, I feel the feedback is a little vague and I’m not really sure if this design should just be scrapped all together or if I can salvage it by making some tweaks. I would love to get any feedback from anyone familiar to the process. My feelings will not be hurt either way, would just appreciate the feedback.
The feedback that I received was (The word “significant” scares me)...
1) Your template’s design does not meet our quality standards at this time and will need significant improvements before it will be ready to be reviewed again. You might consider taking a look at some of our popular premium items to get a better idea for the quality level of graphics, typography and general design that we require for approval.2) You can pay attention to the details of graphics, alignment, element placements and implementation of typography in the design, balance of spacing/padding and how to utilize the white space. But please do not copy / get inspired by their graphics styling, layout structure or features.
Also, what I’m really hoping to do is get it accepted as a psd template and then put in the effort to turn it into an HTML 5 template, and then into an HTML 5 WordPress theme. Would this even be possible? If it is rejected as a psd template is it possible that it would get accepted as an HTML template or WordPress theme?
Thanks for your time and your responses.
It will easily approve in site html section its looks very nice
Looks too basic to me. You need to work on the design elements and give them more of a “premium” feel. Also work on the spacing and typography.

Imho the brown gradient is a problem. It gives the theme something crappy. I do like your “slider” alot. The navigation buttons are to big and dull. The recent projects elements do have a way too small description. etc…
as Scott already mentioned, spacing and typography is an issue.
Good luck
Cheers
Thanks for the great feedback guys! Much appreciated.
How about using other font faces for headers, and smaller font size for regular text, overall design looks good and as @webdesignerart suggested it has a greater potential as an HTML template.
Hello,
In my view you should:My advise: Do not waste your time improving this, even if you improve it, it will not be accepted. It just does not look professional and is not very flexible in terms of design (image what type of business could use this site) so even if it gets accepted, it will not sell.
Hope I could help.

Hello, In my view you should:Improve the navigation bar Do not use the brown gradient. Do not use the striped pattern in the web boxes. Improve the footer, add a contact form, the social buttons should be seen more clearly. The buttons are too big. The slogan “interactive design & marketing solutions” seems misplaced My advise: Do not waste your time improving this, even if you improve it, it will not be accepted. It just does not look professional and is not very flexible in terms of design (image what type of business could use this site) so even if it gets accepted, it will not sell.

OOOOooo “(image what type of business could use this site) so even if it gets accepted, it will not sell.” I agree very nice point
Thanks all for the genuine advice! I will either work on some of these things or I will dump it all together and start something else. Not sure yet but I really do appreciate the feedback.
