Why are authors on here, plaguing plugins.jquery with their items, and or using their referrer ID, to obviously get click thrus and dosh !

Its infuriating, not that I expect Envato will do anything about it, as it drives traffic here. But I think it is wrong.

One author I follow, who I think should be commended on his “right attitude” is 23andwalnut.

I havent seen any authors, from here other than him, post and utilise plugins area of jquery site for the right reasons.

Well done 23andwalnut.

Boo to the prats who post plugins on jquery’s site, for referral basis only…

plugins.jquery.com plugins area is NOT for idiots to post commercial scripts, and or 3rd party wannabes to tag a commercial script for the benefit of getting a referral bonus from envato..

It is just wrong.

Yeah, I have a few of my plugins referred on jquery plugins site. Obviously I did not submit them, it’s someone else referal there – I guess he makes a few bucks. Did not know it was possible to submit like that or I would have submitted them myself lol.

I feel biased about this. On one hand, I feel it’s kinda wrong, on the other, I think it’s kinda cool from jquery to allow referals

lol Zoom

I see your point.

As an author, I have no massive issues with it. However , I really really disagree that 3rd parties can and do post other peoples code “in the loose sense of the word” with referral links..

in fact it has more to do with, they just shouldnt be able to do it.

Whilst I think, yep all authors have the ability to exploit their items in the best way possible, is it really the “done” thing to allow commercial scripts be posted on jQuery site.

I think not.

Its a bit like, some bloke advertising a car on his drive, FREE TO GOOD HOME

and some plonker comes along, and whacks stickers all over it… offering similar, but when you call the number you find out he is SELLING a similar item, not giving it away …

Perhaps not the best analogy, but you get my drift :)
