Does anyone know if we are we allowed to use animated avatars or not? The upload page states they must be JPEG 80×80px but i’ve seen a load of people with animated GIFs to grab extra attention from customers. Am I allowed to do the same?

I would imagine having a screen full of animated gifs would be quite… distracting XP.

Then again if everybody starts using animated gifs, those who have a still picture is going to stand out more.

How about, not only animated avatar, but also an Audio logo playing at the same time…

I think that would really spike em up, 80 avatars jumping and playing ;)

undeniably they do grab extra attention though. When they aren’t rampant things that move are of course going to demand the brain’s attention. I don’t like moving icons but I can see their use.

Whatever, i’ll stick to my purdy blue rings.

They’re allowed, though I’ll join the list of people who find them a bit tacky. ;) Except the cat. The cat is cool.

I agree – that one on flashden of the flashing skeleton wrecks my head – plus if there was a epileptic person looking at it, they would be breakdancing after a few seconds…not good :(
