AIR rocks (Flash is alive again) !

The fact that you use Flash to make things for other platforms and not standalone Flash apps means that Flash is not doing well at all.

I think what D referring is flash in the mobile sector using AIR have a great potential and as flashers it’s something to think off cos` it’s not that hard for us to do this migration in to mobile using AIR /flex/flash builder .

On a personal level as a flasher and from some of my talk to with many flashers the majority is shifting in to the js/html5 world (that’s include myself) mainly as a business shifting and flash will be as a side prototype for most flashers, sad but that’s life …. And I still think if flash won’t be able to step in to the browser world like it use; it will fade away in any type of so call flash as we know in time.

Also if you doing great in the apps world using Air… hats off …. But from what i see our world as flasher`s narrow in to 1-2 sectors making it very hard to make a living with pure flash work

How much $USD does the average Flasher need in Brazil to make it for a living? Having an app in the US top 30 would give you easily around $3000USD – $10000USD with in-app ads (before tax) a month…

^I work in 3 location Brazil, Israel and some work in Spain.

In Israel flash is RIP no one will touch it, but i am lucky cos` i work there on the IT learning school.

In Brazil there is actually a nice flash trend and there is still nice work at this market.

And in Spain well i don’t even want to talk about that market.

But it’s not the issue; i am not a kido you know, i look at the long term when it comes to flash.

First… this is the low point flash been since the day i start working with flash and we taking from 1998 ,take the fact adobe dump flash for mobile ,then dump flex to the Apache,they close so many flash branch`s around the world ,and lay developers off and now focusing on html5 .

Microsoft will stop supporting flash in the default browser from windows 8 starting this year.

So what you ask me is to focuses on a narrow platform develop apss for mobiles(and i won’t do game cos its way to much work in time frame) base on air when the future regarding what adobe say or not say regarding any type of plug in using flash is so fogy .

So you know we all know i am mentally disturbed but i am not crazy putting all my skills on that platform without some serious talk and clarification (more as a promise) from adobe they won’t stop develop flash platform.

I always will have flash/flex under my belt ,but from business point of view i don’t know if it’s the smart move holding the flash “Horns of the altar” (I know you know what the term mean since you speck the holy lang` ) + I look at my co flash friends developer around the world, i really don’t want to be a lonely flash dev in 2014`

okay, got your point of view. I am luckily not in the position where I depend only on Flash. My main job is all about JAVA EE and such, you know, Java will last the next 20 years …

JAVA /js is just unreal, if someone had told me 10 years ago JS in 2012 will still be the most popular syntax program in the world i will think they are on weeds.

Problem it’s much harder to make money from JS platform only cos` you can find almost any script out there for free and people still think you can do magic with it, they are all locos if you ask me … .if you look good the JS didn’t change at all ,just better programing good class and browser engine improve ………….

Yeah, not our best moment, except talking about football.
Anyway there are still good oportunities, mostly if you can sell your body for a good price.

It a hard times, I look right then left then right again and watch how the world become $9.99 html websites….and why no one can encrypt that crap js by now, not to mention HTML .
