OK, don’t laugh. But I was really excited today when I checked my sales and found that I had 4 sales today. That’s the most sales I’ve had in one day yet! Yup, I’m definitely a noob! But just the same, it made me very happy.
I’m just trying to figure out what caused it so that I can do whatever I did again and get more sales. I did start a new Facebook about media production that focuses on the Envato marketplaces. That may have helped. I also started collaborating with VideoHave authors. So that is likely helping too. I also was lucky enough to get an interview with Ohmlab last week on his website and I had a song featured here on AudioJungle. I am sure that helped.
What do you guys find helps you to get more sales?
Congrats! I can imagine that you’re happy about that
Well, my experiences are that collabo’s with videohive authors are extremely helpful regarding to get more traffic and sales!
In my case the bargain basement is a real stepping stone for me this month, my corporate track is among the weekly top’s since two weeks and that boosted my sales in a way that it scares me a bit

I’m just trying to figure out what caused it…....
Don’t!!! It is an endless black hole of despair
Last week a friend of mine on here had zero sales for 4-5 days in a row, and then 7 in one day, and that day was a Sunday, which for most authors, is a very quiet sales day.
Most likely it is one person who initially liked one of your files, and then listened to your portfolio and purchased a bunch of other stuff. But there’s no way of really telling.
Trying to predict this marketplace, well…. I reckon I have a better chance of beating the house in one of the casinos in Las Vegas!
you know what the saying is :
” you have good days, you have bad days “
well something like that anyway..
lol
Hi Eric , there are sometimes days I don’t make any sale at all and other days I have several sales in just one day (like today I have 3 sales … and the day ain’t over yet….).
It’s almost like currency fluctuations
At the moment I am not really promoting my music , but maybe in the near future I will (in the past I used Youtube for promoting my music before I joined AJ , which worked pretty well).
Awesome GJ. September has easily been my best month sales wise with an item on the top weekly sellers page in back to back weeks.
I played a round a bit with a free google adwords campaign in the first couple weeks of the month which definitely drove traffic but didnt do much for sales. I think the biggest drives have been a VH collab (thanks vidosworld) and my niece starting college courses in film studies at UMD and doing a bit of promotion for me lol. I’m sure its benefited some other authors here as well
.
Congrats, Guitarjock!
I agree with Gareth that trying to figure out sales patterns here leads down a road to frustration. Even the top authors like Tim and Soundroll have daily sales fluctuations that can go from 30 one day to 5 the next with no explanation. I no longer think that even week to week comparisons make much sense. I suggest comparing sales by month to figure out your progress.

Hey Eric,
VideoHive collaborations is where it’s at
I find that collaborations not only increase sales directly but are greatly valuable in the way of exposure for to both new buyers who otherwise may not have heard of you and other VH authors as well.
Just like AJ authors however, VH authors are at varying degrees of skill as well – so while it’s still great to be used in any project, if you can get in a project with a big name, you’re pretty much guaranteed some extra sales
Second to that I think the feature helps too. Featured files have always boosted my sales, but being a featured author I think is next to useless for added exposure. I think it’s simply too low down the page to be effective.
Finally, simply having great tracks, like I think you do already, is the greatest asset! Of course, happy returning customers is the most valuable part the equation.
Happy for you man! I’m excited for you to experience even more
Nice work, Eric! Feels good, doesn’t it?
I totally agree about what people said above – don’t try to predict what will cause a daily or even weekly spike. It will just drive you crazy and take up valuable and (at least in my case) limited brain power that should be used for something more productive.
You may be able to see monthly trends and adjust. For instance, around the holidays my sales have tanked the last couple of years, so I may try to adjust this year by posting some Christmas songs.
Also completely agree that a good VideoHive collaboration can boost sales immensely.
Whatever spikes there may be, the best thing you can do is keep posting the quality tracks so you can be positioned to take advantage of them.

There’s nothing to laugh about there Eric! Most people would feel some excitement at making 4 sales in a day! Keep up the good work!
