Fair enough. It would have been better as a “string attached” rather than a “string hidden somewhere deep in a wiki with no legal value defined whatsoever”.

Thanks for the update on the issue, Chris. I believe authors can rightfully expect the licensing terms to be clarified in a short period of time, and it wouldn’t hurt to let new authors know in the signup process.

I think the license is really clear. There is no superseding rule that overwrites legal licensing. If you do not want to let others reuse your work in a new, derived work, do not sell extended licenses of the original one. It is that simple.

If Envato is making an exception in this regard, I am disappointed.
