But what do you think about a buyer that leaves a comment like:
“This theme doesn’t have this, this and this. It sucks. I’ve wasted my money on a theme that doesn’t have also this, this and this. Most of the themes out there have these features, why this theme doesn’t have it. It is not normal that this theme hasn’t it.”

A lot of authors sell their work, along with support, for the same price as authors who effectively offer no support, or very limited support – is there not room for this? It would make the marketplace much more reflective of actual products worth…
As long as support is not required I think this is a bad idea.

no. using it for preview and mentioning the creator is ok.but redistributing is not allowed
Thanks, I was feeling that this is the way to go but was not 100% sure.
Hey,
I have a question regarding royalty free images.
Am I allowed to use them in my themes? I know I’m allowed to use them in the demos, but am I allowed to put them inside the downloadable archive.
Thanks.

You’re right, it does make you sound like a douche-bag. The author made a mistake when he didn’t realize how useful and good his script was, and a second mistake in publishing his code under the MIT license. We already established that legally he doesn’t have the right to any monetary gains. Morally, that’s a completely different matter. Honestly, I’m a little disappointed in the community here. This thread reeks of greed.
Well, who’s fault is that he made a mistake? Yours? Mine? The author that uses the script to make money? No, it is his fault.
I’m sorry that you feel disappointed of the community, but this is not greed. In the real world it is called business

I know this will sound like I’m a douche-bag but the author of the script doesn’t deserve anything. As long as it’s legal and written black on white morality becomes nonsense. This is business and this is how profitable business work for hundreds of years. Nobody tricked him to release it under the MIT license. Once the ball has start rolling it’s easy to pretend royalties, isn’t it. No sh*t!
Of course, donations are a good thing to show your appreciation, but this is subjective to each person.
Short answer is: you can’t. You can’t blacklist/ban/whatever him.
The best thing to do is to improve your seo to outrank him. The second thing is to get positive testimonials (from real people
) to tilt the balance in your favor. If 50 people say it’s good the single one that says it’s bad won’t matter.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
