Dear TanyDi

I agree and I’m sure that envato listening now!

I believe that as soon as a photo is very manipulated, it has no place in photodune but here!

I understand, however envatos considerations, my urban backgrounds are perhaps right on the border if we follow the requirements described here below:

As a general rule, files on GraphicRiver are:
  • Layered files
  • Able to be sold in packs
  • Highly editable
  • Used as elements of a wider design
While files on PhotoDune are:
  • Flattened .jpg files
  • Sold only as single images
  • Commercially useful in their current form
  • Used as stand-alone images, requiring minimal or no editing

They fit well on some of graphicrivers “requirements”: Able to be sold in packs, Used as elements of a wider design.

But also fits very well at all photodunes “requirements” with the big difference that the guaranteed sell much better on graphic river than photodune.

I understand that envato is forced to clean up, but you can not just delete people’s files without warning. They could give me a chance to re-edit / develop my backgrounds so they could meet more of the necessary requirements, if that’s what they wanted. Well, it was also an error in this case.

I agree that there is a need to highlight some guidelines for exactly the kind of files you mention here.

Glad to hear it got fixed! You make a good point about contacting authors before disabling items. That’s something that we should really be doing. Let me talk to some people :)

Yes, it’s mighty fine all now.

And yes, I think it would be appropriate to warn your members before disabling the files. Remember how much work that has gone into making these files.

But I still need to know what I shall go by.

The 11 pack bundles are now back to port ….

But no. 12 has been rejected, the same reason? or lost in the crowd?

No. 13 hangs in the queue now?

Will my urban backgrounds continue to be accepted on graphicriver?

Sincerely, :)

Grats! This is really good news!

Hi my friend, yes in some sense this is very good for me :)

But there are some confusions regards the upload of backgrounds, whether they should be on photodune or graphic river for all authors here.

Well, it seems there has been some kind of mix-up, bad communication and confusion behind the curtains?

The items have been “accepted” once again.

Hurra!

Yes, I have also created a ticket on twitter, which I think is a mystery to me that they have two support systems.

All have begun to refer to twitter if you do not get answers. What is the meaning of it? But thanks anyway!

Envato has blindfolded without the least consideration, completely turned my income death on graphic river without the slightest warning.

These backgrounds are perfect where they are, and sales figures and popularity speaks for itself. But this has envato not seen?

My urban series has no chance at photodune, compared with graphic river.

The “fun” is that I’ve had this discussion with envato a year ago, and they agreed that they were the right place.

And 14 days ago I was contacted by envato where they offered me that one of my background packages to be included in the next bundle. We signed a contract!

I am completely and utterly confused and disappointed!

I really need everyone’s opinion on the above.

Hello everyone and thank you for comments and your interest in this ….!

Where I really get disappointed, the way this is done.

Not so much the “silly” reasons why this is done.

But I had no opportunity to prepare me, or for that matter, come up with any kind of objection on the above.

I have several links everywhere with paths and url’s for my self-created collection of just my bundles of urban backgrounds. They’re now inactive, and I need a whole lot of work again to get it in place.

And yes, I have contacted support, but will they answer me today? I think it unlikely.

And yes, I know I sound slightly “acidic” and irritated, but that’s because I am …. I do apologize!

Well, I can look at my own profile that all comments are completely gone.

Whether the reason for this could be that some of them are soft rejected is not known. But they are all gone. Maybe they saved if they are only soft rejected, but what about those who are hard rejected?

These comments are unique and priceless to me (and envato) .....!

I’m just so disappointed and sad about this ambush from envato …..

Facts

I have now earned money to envato since August 2007. Both of my audio jungle portfolio and later also graphic river. These are facts.

This morning without notice, envato has disabled my entire urban series. Not just one, but all.

13 bundles with all 8 wallpapers in each. (Most people who know me as an artist, knows probably also the material I’m talking about.)

They have been for sale via graphic river as background material with great success. They have actually been mine and envatos most popular urban backgrounds.

Why?

The reason is as follows: they believe that they should have been submitted to photodune as they are photos.

Ok that’s fine, but these images are heavily manipulated and edited and works perfectly natural best as backgrounds. They are made only for this purpose. Even a blind could see this.

Questions?

Well, ok fine. New rules changing times, it happens to everyone.

  • I’ll spend the next few weeks to upload all backgrounds again but now separately?
  • photodune does not accept bundles far as I know?
  • Several of them are soft disabled, but some of them are hard. How is it?
  • It would be appropriate if envato contacted me in advance so I had an opportunity to prepare myself? This is very rude cooperation or?
  • All the comments and ratings that have been assigned to each bundle, they are gone now?

The Print Designer Bundle?

I have recently been contacted regarding the upcoming bundle here on October 16 .. and have agreed and signed a contract to one of my urban series to be included in. As I obviously have been looking forward to, who would not? But how on earth can it if it has been removed?

Conclusion

  • envato just turned my whole series to death without warning.
  • It took envato 5 years to figure it out, and choose to react when things are going well.
  • I no longer feel it is worth it to work for envato.
  • This is not cooperate but a dictatorship.
  • I simply do not believe in that envato realize how much energy and power we put into our work, above proves it
  • Now I lose the income I had until this is resolved

Thank you for listening!

Why would you do something for free? You are in my eyes a unique artist and designer who has earned his position through hard work.

In the world where I live, you have to pay for such services.

You have to have at least your normal hourly rate.

Sincerely,
