Just added negate to the capabilities list
Yup in most cases, but in my case I’m using it on a body background pattern. The pattern is grayscale then the body also has a background-color. So to avoid any additional unwanted divs, I change the opacity of the pattern so that it’ll colorize the pattern. e.g. http://themes.mas.gambit.ph
Now that I think about it I can do it by colorizing the pattern instead. But I already finished the theme :/
Hey guys,
short story: rejected theme because of timthumb. I need to release the theme soon so I needed an alternative for timthumb that 1) allowed in TF, 2) used WP’s Image Editor classes, 3) can perform the timthumb functions I needed: grayscale, colorize/tint, and 4) can perform changing opacity of an image.
Aqua Resizer is awesome but I needed additional functionality. So, feeling inspired by Aqua, I created bfi_thumb. Some info below:
Bfi_thumb resizes image on the fly using WordPress’ Image Editor classes, thus supports both Imagick and GD and switches automatically depending on what’s available. The default Image Editors only have a handful of basic functions (crop, resize, rotate, etc), bfi_thumb also extends these classes to include these new functions: Grayscale, Color (colorize), Opacity. Bfi_thumb stores previously created images in WP’s default uploads directory, and uses those for future calls. The script automatically checks for updates on the original image then re-creates new images when needed. Any image can be used as long it is in your WordPress instance.
I felt that other people might need this too.. so I made the code open and put it in Github under the GPL 3 license.

Okay so I was shocked since I just got rejected with timthumb being one of the reasons. This is a real bummer since I’ve kept my timthumb copy up to date and added features to it (e.g. better path finding, opacity, etc).
Patiently waiting for answer.
Don’t just add features, redo then refine the design
Study the design of the existing themes or even just the popular ones
Mind doing a peer review. I got the same rejection. Thread here: http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/need-insight-on-wp-theme-design/86672 Theme here: http://themes.mas.gambit.ph
I like it, it’s quite unique. Some comments:
1. The stripes on the top part hurts my eyes when I scroll down. 2. The top menu needs some styling 3. I don’t quite like the big spinning icons. Maybe just a little rotation will do, or a nudge up or down. 4. There’s a weird gap just above the ‘about us’ that sort of shows the top picture. 5. I can barely see the contact form. Fix the colors 6. I’d prefer that instead of a plus button on the bottom.. remove that then fix the social buttons on the left/right side of the screen. 7. The plus signs on the pictures (when you hover) aren’t centered vertically. 8. The quote just above the ‘about us’ isn’t visible. almost didn’t notice it. maybe add a background to it
The whole header, logo and menus aren’t working for me, the design looks outdated. Remove also the shadows in the boxes of the shades. The footer needs a lot of fixing regarding margins and styling also. Your header and footer should complement each other. The “style” and “brand” titles on your sidebar shouldn’t have a background of white. Spend time to even out and streamline the design

The bad thing about this kind of boxed design is that it has been done tons of times already. I think you have to add some unique aspect for it to work.
With that being said, I have 3 suggestions on how to improve the theme:
1. Make the menu font the same with your headers 2. Try using another font aside from Roboto 3. The theme needs color for highlights. I’m not talking about the blue mouse over effects, but rather static highlights like the thick underline of the menu or the top and bottom bars of the main box. Currently there’s too much blackness
Hello all, need some of your insights on how to improve the design of my theme MaS: http://themes.mas.gambit.ph/
Here’s the rejection email I got:
Your template does not provide a unique enough design with the necessary design quality, features and options to compete in the marketplace at this time. As higher quality templates become available in the marketplace, approval requirements will increase to maintain appropriate marketplace quality.
You might consider improving your design with more unique features and graphics in order for it to stand out among other marketplace items. However, a unique design will be a key factor for approval.

As an added measure, I’m going to add some adjustable colors and backgrounds in the preview also.
Thanks in advance for your help!
