@VF
As i stated above, i think you are right, but, it is impossible to stop such threads, and i believe there is no need to.
If “1 sale, 10 sales, 50 sales” threads shouldn’t be present, “golden paw, plutonium paw” threads shouldn’t be as well.
I believe those buyers who do not evaluate item’s quality/price/effort put into building it, and think that 20 sales for someone is a damn nice thing, then they may think like this as well:
“Oh look at this boy, he has got a plutonium paw, he sold somewhere between 250K and a million, and he needs my 35$? Oh, he is so insolent to raise his prices up to 50$ for some random wordpress theme which can be built by my nephew in 3 hours?”
Those who under-evaluate, will likely continue to do so, no matter what. I don’t think one should fight with these buyers, they are like those who pirate items from envato marketplaces – your time has a higher value than fighting with them.
Hey FlossieWood,
I think VF is right and i believe there shouldn’t be so many threads like this.
Anyway, i thought i’d support you a bit, so congrats with the 2nd sale

Hey Ciprian,
I see you have done some improvements since i saw the vcard last time, but there is still a big room for improvement.
1. Fonts. I think you should use a font pair in your design. Read more here: http://webdesign.tutsplus.com/articles/typography-articles/a-beginners-guide-to-pairing-fonts/
2. Font Sizes. I think you are using too many size variations. I can spot the following font sizes: 10px, 12px, 14px and 24px. That’s too much. Try to use only 2, at most 3.
3. Color Palette. I am not sure that is the best combination of colors. I see black, 2 variations of gray and cyan. I believe you can find some nice color palettes on dribbble.
4. Graphics. That blurred “hire me” icon is awful. Also, the icons near that “hire me” sections are too small, and i think black isn’t an appropriate color for them.
5. Social Media Icons. I think social media icons play a minor graphic role in the layout, especially in a layout of small size, that is why there shouldn’t be that “flipped” effect on the Youtube and Twitter icons. I also think that if you really want to write the names of social networks the icons belong to, then it shouldn’t be colorful as it is now.
Overall, i think you will eventually get that submitted, but i’d say you should browse for some nice examples of vcards on Dribbble, and read some theory articles on: webdesign.tutsplus.com
Bafta!

Hey Ciprian,I’d say a lot of improvements must be done before you move one with your design.
The main, and the most important issue i can see at the moment is the typography and its simplicity. Typography is really bad, and those “drop shadow” effects aren’t actually improving your typo, but are making it look worse.
You may want to read all articles in this category: http://webdesign.tutsplus.com/category/articles/typography-articles/
Also, the design looks too simple. Maybe you wanted to make it minimal, but i can’t see anything except some icons and text in the layout.
One more thing are those icons, they look really bad to me. You may want to browse for some freebies on 365psd.com, you’ll be able to find some nice PSDs there.Hey man! Much appreciated feedback! Will definitely take all what you just said into consideration.
Thank you!

Damn Guys,
Take a look at the most recent template from the PSD category (Cre….) to see how MUCH the quality requirements have fallen. It is actually stolen (elemis points it in that theme’s comments) but actually look at the design! Is that TF i/we are going to see in the upcoming future? That “so-called” “premium psd template” doesn’t even look good to be accepted in the HTML category, not mentioning it was already accepted in the PSD cat.
Even if i’m not an author here, i’m a buyer, and i would like the marketplaces to be as awesome as possible, but really, what i see now is just something which makes me think that if some serious changes won’t be done in the upcoming time, i am probably going to leave.
One more thing which bugs me, is how these threads with a lot of constructive feedback are “living their lives”. They appear ->Authors begin complaining, then some-one either from mods/staff/authors appears and says how the marketplaces puke with rainbows and how “perfect” they are -> A staff member appears and says that really soon there will be “nyan cats flying over the marketplaces” and that’s it. -> 70% of those complaining are going to say “hey, that’s great” “awesome news” “thanks collis!
” and the other 30 percent will understand that nothing changes and these threads will just die, with a hope from envato that everyone forgot about the complains…
Peace.
As a buyer here, i am also a bit concerned about the number of themes being accepted at the moment.
For the last days, i have been following the PSD category specifically and i was just thinking, WTF happened?!
When i first saw 3-4 themes accepted over-night, i was thinking, damn, those designs must be really great, and it’s a rarity to see 4 designs accepted in a day. So, after i took a look at all of them, i honestly was disappointed and was thinking that it could be the reviewer with it’s personal taste, but guys, the next days weren’t different at all and it wasn’t about personal tastes anymore. Now i don’t even browse the PSD category anymore because i hardly believe i will see a nice design, and if i will, it will easily get lost in that bunch of “low-quality themes”.
@kailoon, got really surprised when you actually admitted that the standards were lowered, why so? I remember there was a thread some good months ago and (please correct me if i’m wrong) Dany Duchaine, DDStudios at that time, with a bunch of authors were complaining about the low quality standards, and then Kailoon said “If you want higher standards, no problem guys :)” and now this is really strange. If these requests to increase the revision standards were asked before, and now, they are lowered, makes me think that there “is something in the pipeline” regarding it…
Cheers.
