Hey Scott,

you are right in that I edited the preview file first but purely to show the client prior to sign-off. They are notoriously picky and I am not going to go ahead and purchase a load of audio files until I have approval.

In After Effects (my weapon of choice) you can replace a used file with another, so say hypothetically the preview (watermarked) and the purchased versions were identical. I could have a thousand edits on the preview, just one simple right click action would replace all the elements on the timeline with the non-watermarked file. This is how I have always worked with audio but this is the first time I have bought a bundle and come unstuck as a result.

I did contact the author and they offered to provide the combined file… for a fee. Lovely!

I recently used an audio bundle in an after effects project and used the downloadable preview to create a soundtrack to show the client prior to approval and sign-off. This preview was edited and chopped up a great deal to create the exact soundtrack I wanted.

The client loved it and I then went ahead and purchased the bundle. Unfortunately the bundled items were all separate and there was no collected file as per the preview audio .wav. Therefore I can’t just swap out the watermarked version for the non-watermarked version and had to spend an entire day re-editing the audio with the separate elements.

This rather long-winded rant is basically meandering towards the polite suggestion/request that all audiojungle authors (if selling an audio bundle of multiple files) please include an identical non-watermarked version of the downloadable preview for AE authors who may well have used and edited it to show a client. I can only assume I am not alone in having had this problem. (If I am then ignore me and carry on as before).

Cheers J

I make all my project on cs6 and convert to cs4, it’s a bit of a hassle sometimes but better than working in cs4 in my opinion

How do you convert back to CS4? I know this is a loooong ago post but I am struggling to find a good method.

Alt click the little bit of text saying ‘8 bpc’ at the bottom of your After Effects project window. It will change to ‘16 bpc’ and all your troubles will magically disappear.

Just clicked the banner showcasing ‘Over 20 incredible Element 3D items’. As incredible as they all are, the total sales of all items adds up to 14. Not too good.

Is anyone expecting this to change… much? I can’t see myself investing the time for what appears to be very little reward.

Thats like say years ago, hey this new site called videohive only has 400 items on it. Its not worth making after effects templates since not many people are buying them.

Good point, I guess you see a bit more light at the end of that particular tunnel than I do.

I’m not so optimistic but only time will tell. I could well be eating my words in a few months time when the category explodes (I do have my copy of Element loaded and ready to go should this happen).

I didn’t realise that this rejection based on too many of a certain type of file happens but I am really glad it does.

If one author has a great idea for a certain ‘type’ of project then it is only fair that the amount of projects that are similar is limited to a certain amount. This both protects the sales of the original author and forces creativity from other members of the marketplaces.

A lot of people on this thread seem annoyed that what Envato need is a lot of badly put together original content. That content however is not generating sales as it is badly put together. If I were to even consider copying (or should I call it ‘taking inspiration’) from another project, pick one that has been done badly and has no sales and make it kick ass and awesome and just watch the cash roll on in.

I also see a lot of people annoyed on these forums that their items are not selling or are rejected even though other items that are similar are being really successful.

Be different, be unique, be creative, be successful! (Ok it might not be that simple but it has to beat copying others work and being rejected)
