I agree with all of you, but mostly with mikeinitaly, i mean i posted a thread on here asking how to look for information on… well you read it… and the guy asked me for USD 25 , thats like £12.50 of my money, i could probably find what i was looking for by doing a quick search in google, but i just couldnt be ar*d, so i posted a thread to get a quick and easy answer.

This was the thread.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO READ THIS ONE TO MAKE IT EASIER

Here’s my situation, i have a movieclip [skin2], within it a button [searchbuttonskin2], wich needs to access a variable within the timeline of [skin2], now because it’s a button, it works fine, i just need to enter the var name in the actionscript when i select the button. eg. on(release) { getURL(variableName,”blank”); }

Works absolutely fine, but i want to make a fully animated version of that button, so i duplicated it and changed it into a movieclip. So we now have [skin2animated] and [searchbuttonskin2animated] which i want to use to the same way as the button [searchbuttonskin2] in movieclip [skin2]. now when i use the same script as the button [searchbuttonskin2] on the movie [searchbuttonskin2animated] (i hope i’m making this clear enough for you), it looks for the variable within itself instead of within [skin2animated]. i need it to look within [skin2animated] without using _root. i need the path to go back (if it exists); like in a html path where you use ”../” to look in the folder holding the folder the file is in. If it isn’t possible, i’ll have to go with _root. , but i don’t even know how to look in the movieclip [skin2animated] using _root.

Please can someone help me with my situation.

If you do report the site, there’s nothing paypal can do about it, it’s going to be a european host and there is now way of paypal blocking it.

This is called email phishing, it’s not just paypal, but banks and everything are mimmiked to see if they can get you to give them your details, anybody could be on the other end, it is almost certainly not paypal who sent you that e-mail. A good way to check is by hovering over the link and in the status bar, seeing what it really is, it’s probably something like .js or .es or some other country. What they do when they load is mask the URL in the address bar so you don’t even know what it is, but it is not where you are.
