Its not about selling it’s about the number of files you upload times there value. So if i sell 0 files but have uploaded 3 files worth 10 credits each i have 30 points. When you have 1 file worth 4 credits but have sold it 80 times you still have only 4 points so i’ll win![]()
Thanks! its clear now if the official stance is same.

So what’s the necessary code? Do you just need to position the flash file and then float all the html accordingly or does everything in that given area need to be positioned absolutely?
You have to position at least the flash object which is going to overlay the html content and the contents directly coming under the flash content.
Please see the following site: http://www dot rikablade dot us/07030A/
I did the flash menu for this site. Every thing is html Except the demo center object on the right which is also flash object and the menu of course.
View the source code and you will get the idea clearly. As the flash drop down menu’s height is actually 38px but as you rollover on a button and the drop down menu appears it needs a lot more space to show the menu fully so I have the width of the container div and also flash menu object to a very high value statically, you can set the width and height using javascript at runtime.

some say it can be achieved using vmode and z-index with maybe some absolute positioning.
Everyone who lives with flash will tell you that:
It can be achieved using vmode and z-index with maybe some absolute positioning.
and I have done many projects which required to display flash content over the html content. For example in many sites now a days you may have notice flash peel ads at top left or right corners and when user rollover them these ads expend and cover the whole html page. That is possible through absolute positioning and javascript.
So similarly intead of displaying flash over the html content, html content can be shown over the flash content using absolute positioning.

Staff,On the competition page it says:
Entry is open to any member of FlashDen who is NOT a paid staff member
I was wondering: are those new file approvers paid staff members? And if not wouldnt it be unfair because they can give their own files higher values and other people’s files lower values so they will win the comp.
Not accusing anyone… just wondering![]()
bobocel has already talked about this that he is out of competition now.
What I see that flashden lacks automation features. For example at one hand they update the competition description but on the other hand the title is updated when users pin point that to site authors. I have seen this sort of automation lack many times.
I have a different question regarding competitions. Can anyone tell me the exact criteria of the competition. Because many authors have less files and also less credits score than me on the competition page but I am not on the top sellers’ list?

Thats super wes, i am looking forward.
Hi,
Here is the demo of the yahoo like slideshow: http://www.arcoint.com/wes/demos/rob/ad_show.html
It is xml controlled slideshow, the delay between images can be set through xml.
But keep in mind that this is not a decrypted version of yahoo. I have done this myself and the code is totally actionscript 2.0 object oriented.
Yahoo slideshow can show text either horizontally and vertically but my slideshow shows text only vertically as you see there.
let me know if this what you are looking for so that I upload it to flashden and you can then buy it.
Regards, S. Ali

My preloader takes up the first 5 frames and all my actions are on one empty frame on 6. So if I understand correctly, when it hits frame 6 all the assets were loaded before the preloader. I should create a frame 7 and physically put down everything I’ve attached through actionscript onto the stage. right?
Yes try that.

I mean you must be sure that you files are 100% bug free before you upload them here on flashden. Because every user might not come again for a fix.did you read what you quoted?
If people are not happy with the file believe me they would let me know. Most of these “bugs” are so minor that people do not notice – otherwise why would the buy the file? Like SilverXp (:-)) says I offer great support and all my files have lots of comments and a help file.
now go and pick on someone else
ok, sorry. I take all my words on this thread back.

erm.. thanks always nice to see my files in the wilddon`t you think you are being a little harsh in picking on me as having lot of bugs in my files?
If you check the comments in my files you will see that almost as soon as a bug is found i provide a fix. I test all of my files, but since they are popular lots of people use the file in a different way to me, so bugs are found and quickly fixed. Also a lot of these “bugs” are very minor.
chuck.
Sorry you got mind.

Hey! Chuckanucka Do You Want See where some of your files are being used?
I know one such site as I worked for them and I noticed that they are using one of your file.
Your file: http://activeden.net/item/xml-news-slidefade/2477
Here is the site: http://www.24hchrono.ch/index2.php
Chuckanucka! please try to make bug free files, as I have noticed that many of your files contain some bugs which are not good for you.
Flash den can also showcase this site it there is no violations.
