It’s expensive, but every two years seems about right to me, especially with how fast technology is moving. Two years ago the iPhone was just launching, and now Adobe has a version of Flash that creates apps for it, who knows what there will be in two years?
Of course, with that being said, it would certainly be cool if Adobe released incremental FREE upgrades along the way to add value to their products, but then how would they afford to put gas in their diamond-encrusted Bugatti Veyrons?
Now that the Google Wave invites are starting to trickle out, I thought I’d start a thread where Wavers can share their Google Wave addresses.
For those who are in the Wave preview, if you have extra invites please post how many you have here and people can message you directly with their requests. If you aren’t in Wave yet, please don’t post requests for invites on this thread.
I’ll start, my Wave address is egoant@googlewave.com and I have three invites to give away, direct message me to request one.
Just flipping through my tabs here and the ones that really catch my eye so far are: http://www.labusdesign.com http://chrisfay.net http://www.der-design.com http://www.rgdesign.org/en (Great use of black and colour!) and definitely http://www.ryanterry.net
I have been through a number of different designs, but right now I’m loving the mpOne template: EgoAnt.com
Every day Flash matures more as a language. One thing that I think is great about this is that it requires AS3 . Ever since I made myself learn AS3 I have become a stronger developer, and it feels like my apps are more flexible and reusable.
Okay there is a joke waiting to happen here, and I’m afraid I have to be the one to make it…
flashDO? More like flashDON’T! ZING !
They are helping each other to feed off of us.
They wouldn’t feed off of us if we weren’t so damned delicious. Mmmm, tasty developers, the other white meat!
yeah apple need to sort their crappy hardware out![]()
That’s the funny thing, overally I think the iPhone is pretty good, but not brilliant. I prefer the HTC Hero. Even still, this seems like a great opportunity. I just wonder if the people approvaing iPhone apps know what they are in for: there is going to be a FLOOD of half-baked apps. (Mine included)
I am super excited about this: Flash CS5 Applications for iPhone
I love Flash, a lot, and the fact that with CS5 we’ll be able to create iPhone apps right from the Flash IDE is awesome. One thing is for sure, if you ever wanted an excuse to start learning AS3 , this is it. AS1 and AS2 won’t be supported.
I know I have at least two or three games I would love to port to the iPhone immediately. (Sure, they aren’t the greatest, but I just want to see them running on the iPhone!)
Where did you find it? (Just in case some of us are looking for it.)
