Yes, anyone can declare their site or template as HTML5 . BUT is it for the sole purpose of marketing = making those sites look up-to-date OR does the author really tries to evangelize the new technology by using it’s evolving basis?

So perhaps this dilemna is not about the law or consequences…

If you took the time to learn about the meanings of new tags and are happy to explore new possibilities, that differentiates you from the sloppy developer that just says is, but doesn’t do it.

Make the social icons much smaller, with slightly rounded corners. Watch the spacing of them – it would be nicer to have the same amount of space from left and from bottom. I like the border around them.

What if the numbers are a bit bigger, you could use the same font as “STAND BY” for them.

Also.. the spacing is inconsistent between the lines of text.

For the submit button, maybe something like… http://designmesk.posterous.com/color-buttons-2

Overall, this is really good, you just need to finish up the little things. Good luck :)

I’m coming from flash (over 12 years invested)

I wonder how many flash guys will cross over to html5/jquery.

Difficulty is relevant to your personal skill-set but no matter what you pick, it’s isn’t going to be easy.

Exactly and that’s why I suggest choosing the one you feel it’s going to be the hardest.

I think that’s what I’ll do – I don’t do work for free, the clients I had paid very well, $75/hr..

If you have no design experiences and you want to be a designer, it will be a hard and long process…
NO PAIN NO GAIN my friend. You probably, as basically all of us, will have to design design design. You can give yourself a nice little project each week and slowly start building your portfolio base. But… if it’s all money you care about, the process of becoming a great designer will become too hard for you to handle.

Hi Deborah!

First thing would always be – read the documentation. It’s in the zip file you downloaded and it will help you tremendously!

If you still can’t find the answer how to add images, contac tthe author. Every author provides support. Drop him an email using the contact form or email address on his profile page.

Hope that helps!

Not sure about the relocation thing from Eartern Europe, but OK. Maybe you have different experiences.

If you really want it, you will find someone at least for an internship. Best thing is to look for agencies you know, you admire their work and just drop them an email. You have nothing to lose.

I recently went to Vancouver to a coworking place called The Network Hub and worked there on my projects, it was great! I also worked in US, but that was work&travel and I worked at restaurant, shop and a hotel :) Canadians and Americans are nice people.

Go to Australia or New Zealand for beautiful nature and adventures along your work, or go to America for road trip at the end of the summer :)

Just go! :)

I actually saw a couple themes with larger font (for normal text). They look gorgeous.

Everything can be designed to look good, right? Especially a site with a bit larger type! What about 14pt? It depends on selected font, what looks better, what not.

SO… if you make it look good, it’s easier to read and that makes the site a bit more pleasant experience!
