I’m inclined to agree with phantasmagoria, because I, as a freelancer, would like to get 100% of the profit without splitting it with FD. Then again I wouldn’t be getting the work at all if the site didn’t exist, and most freelance sites charge a fee. Since FD is what allows us to get the work, it seems fair that they get a small slice of the profits.

I think the whole idea is a good one, streamline and organize the freelance requests, let Envato make some money off it and prevent (or at least reduce) file piracy at the same time. It would also draw more people to the site as it becomes known as a specialist Flash freelance hub, which can only be good for the authors here.

I think the problem here is development – it would take a lot of time and effort to get this all set up properly. Envato has a lot on its plate already, with the launch of GraphicRiver and the general maintenance of a large group of sites. I don’t think it’s gonna happen because Envato don’t have the time to invest in it right now. It would be an interesting project to see in the future though.

phantasmagoria – this is coming from a fellow freelancer – you should be grateful to get the work at all here, especially for free. Also, if freelance work pays your rent, you might want to go somewhere other than FD where you can get some bigger and better projects.

“Almost here”? You’ve been shamelessly delaying for months. I want to know what it is already

Put me down for a t-shirt and a mouse mat. Great idea FJ. Making it a competition could be interesting too.

Well done. I see you’re still setting a high standard for everyone else here (I found one of your files in a Google search which is how I found FD).

This new system seems to be working out well for everyone.

Yes, that’s sarcasm.

Wow. Very impressive. Only things I can think of to improve it would be a changeable background (let the user select a bg image or perhaps a particle system) or a music player – both of which have been done a thousands times before in other templates. I’m struggling to come up with ways to add to it. You could consider changing the images on the homepage to something brighter and nicer to give viewers a better first impression of the site.

Your email link under 08 – Contact is broken though. Well, the link works, but you have to click the phone number instead of the email address. Have a look at it and you’ll see what I mean. I’m using Vista/FireFox 3/Flash10 by the way.

And while you’re playing with the contact page, you spell “Manhattan” with two “t”s :p. Also your zip code is missing a digit. I know it’s just an example, but the site will look more professional if you pay attention to these little details.

Overall very good work though. That’ll be a big seller.
